The teen children probably have GenX parents, the latchkey generation and first not expected to have a better economic situation than the previous generation, teens born around or shortly after 911, grown up with social media, and a thousand etc. on the changes in or just realities of society.
I haven't seen as much as you. I have volunteered in and worked in schools but as a para sub mostly in elementary. I do wonder about all the ingredients of society that were blended together to create the atmosphere now. I was recently at an event which was attended by Webelo dens. The lack of respect toward the speaker, lack of politeness, of etiquette displayed by these 9 and 10 year olds in a program that teaches respect made me really reflect on this.
