The clues that it is satire are in the rest of the content. If you read only titles, you aren't getting the entire story.
For those who don't know that I sometimes post a piece of satirical writing, you can tell by my use of this smilie at the end of the post:
That's the Evil Grin smilie. It's the Devil laughing. Look for it. I don't use it unless I'm being satirical.
I'm just saying...

(5,528 posts)If you have a limited amount of time, you may want to get the news and views. And if you have a slow internet, getting sucked into clicking does take time and is frustrating. I have a DSL line and occasionally it takes 5 to 10 seconds to change pages. Almost as bad as dialup used to be.

(5,528 posts)I don't see the fun in being tricked into clicking on a misleading headline. If that's what you enjoy, just start a satire and joke only forum. How hard is it to mark a post as satire? I like the latest threads because of the great diversity it has so I wont look only at one forum.

(5,528 posts)But, how does a person with no sense of humor avoid being your target audience? This whole argument doesn't bother me one way or the other. I certainly have a pretty well developed range and sense of humor. I was responding to the first comment, where that person just asked if you could label your post as satire. I can see his point. No point in discussing any further. I enjoy all posts on DU.
