John McCain's son-in-law, conservative pundit Ben Domenech, tweeted Saturday night that the senator, who is battling a deadly form of brain cancer, asked him to take care of his daughter, Meghan.
McCain, a six-term Arizona Republican, was released from the hospital last week. He had been in stable condition at the Mayo Clinic, according to his family and Senate office, following surgery for an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis.
McCain, 81, has been recovering at his family's retreat near Sedona, a tweet from his wife, Cindy, suggests.
Ben Domenech's tweet was posted at 8:16 p.m. Arizona time. It is unclear what prompted the message. He subsequently deleted the tweet sometime before 10 p.m.

(6,916 posts)Domenech's writing is actively hurting people in the United States, contributing to homophobia and the abuses of immigration enforcement as well as supporting the corrupt and racist president to the hilt.

In its short existence, The Federalist has won plaudits from conservative organizations and activists, not least those best known for their anti-LGBT advocacy. A look at the website's track record on LGBT issues leaves little doubt as to why The Federalist counts some of the most notorious anti-LGBT groups among its most ardent fans.
Touted by Domenech as a publication "that rejects the assumptions of the media establishment," The Federalist regularly frames its opposition to LGBT equality as brave defiance of elite conventions. This posture leads The Federalist to inveigh against even the most basic protections for LGBT people.
Also, the Federalist is funded by secret donors, so we don't know who is behind them.

All that said, I have sympathy for anyone whose father-in-law is in this position. This must be a tough time for their family right now. The cancer McCain has is effectively a death sentence. Almost no one survives. If McCain has been released from the hospital after surgery, there is a decent chance he is now in hospice. Prayers for John McCain's health and the McCain family.
