Unpopular(?) opinion time: I'm okay w/ people mocking SHS's appearance

I generally try to avoid body-shaming and criticizing people based on their appearance (I'm fallible though and I'm sure I do at times, whether on purpose or without realizing it).

But I really don't care if people mock Sarah Huckabee Sanders, be it for her eyes, her weight, her hair, her voice, the way she dresses. I don't care. I've got no f*cks to give. It's no skin off my nose, not a single solitary epidermal cell.

She has chosen to spend her limited days on this earth defending, justifying, excusing, and otherwise shielding from criticism -- including by misdirection or changing the subject -- the most vile, undignified, boorish behavior and language from Trump. Every single thing he says and does she defends and excuses, including exactly this matter: body-shaming, appearance mockery, expressing disgust towards disabilities. He's being doing it for DECADES, and is extraordinarily shameless about it. Now he has not only the biggest stage in the world but an army of enablers like her.

She has forfeited any grounds for complaint, even by ally or proxy. She has staked out the position that this type of thing is not to be criticized or complained about. Well then, she can reap what she has sown. Enjoy. Or choke on it, I don't care. This type of behavior will not be criticized by me when it is aimed at her or other Trumpists.

And when it comes to Trump himself, and his ridiculous combover or gigantic (I-eat-crappy-food-despite-being-rich-enough-to-do-otherwise-and-don't-exercise-despite-having-leisure-time) ass I may even engage in a bit of it myself without regret.

I could be wrong. I might change my mind. But that's my opinion for now.

She was not mocked for her appearance or her body.

You should do more checking the facts before making such a claim.

A variety of media I consume has done so including TV shows, podcasts, social media posts.

If you want to criticize me about shooting my mouth off before "checking my facts" feel free to do so when warranted --I'm sure I do it often enough; I don't believe this is one such case.

or maybe intentionally not. That was the body shaming joke that I thought was below a level of decency I expect from people I respect or just care to listen to.
Was not impressed with the pedophile joke because I know survivors whose lives were ruined by it.

It’s not just them you are mocking or shaming or potentially making feel bad/worthless. I think that kind of body/appearance shaming is hurtful, and it has *nothing* to do with whether that particular target is a good person. SHS is a pos and danger to our Democracy for reasons that are far more important than what she looks like. The comments at the WHCD were much more on point than a fat joke would have been.

...This is either a bad misinterpretation of Wolf’s joke or a criticism meant to curry favor with the Trump administration. Either way, saying that Huckabee Sanders achieves “a perfect smokey eye” with the ash from burnt facts does not qualify as “intense criticism of her physical appearance.”

who assume that any comment about Sanders’ appearance must be a negative one. They are so convinced that anyone critical of Sanders would attack her appearance that they can’t actually understand the joke.

It is truly amazing and says a lot about anyone who thinks this is about her appearance.

I don't typically go for jabs at people for the physical stuff. In the case of several of the orange anus posse member, however, I do think comments are appropriate. The inner ugly is what we are seeing.

YMMV.

Just. NO.

If you are not an agent provocateur attempting to sow discord, you are badly mistaken.

Do not lower yourself to their level.

Do not become them.

Do not permit them to engage in "The Libs do it."

Someone is only subject to abuse and ridicule for the things they CAN control. Their behaviors, their actions, their words are 'fair game'.

What they cannot control is not subject.

No body shaming, no appearance remarks.

Deeds and words are liable, not looks and shape.

Do not give them any legitimacy to play the victim

She is a liar and why she lies for a liar is beyond me. Perhaps, the pay check is her reason to lie. Trump mocked many women, and she is following his pattern. Trump is a fat ass and is inept to be the resident of the White House. He is making sure that the swamp is well attended, the piece a shit!
