You can't go into a doctor's office and grab original files. You have to order HIPAA copies and then have the patient either collect them him/herself or have a legally appointed representative do so. Come on! Would you want anybody claiming to represent you going into a bank and attaching your savings account without proof or the representing the IRS and demanding all of your tax records?
