Trump is NOT leaving the White House on his own
He will NOT resign
He will NOT leave after impeachment
An indictment won't even do it
Force is the only way
And I don't see it going down like that
This is not something anybody is planning for

(1,822 posts)I didnt like that the GOP said basically the same thing about Obama. Until there is something to suggest otherwise, I will believe he will leave when the time comes. Let's hope it happens before 2020, but I doubt it will.

(63,221 posts)Not just his age, diet and lack of exercise, but the enormous amount of stress he's under, his inability to deal with anything that doesn't go his way, and the fact that he is quick to anger all add to his risk factors.

(6,377 posts)He would rather have the last image of him as president be walking out of the White House and boarding Marine One, than being dragged out kicking and screaming by the National Guard.

(28,151 posts)impeachment proceedings can begin. Once that happens, and of course charges will likely be pending by then from Mueller's investigation, it will be all over whether he likes it or not.

(54,087 posts)He won't get support from Republicans if he tries to defy the election. He may screw with the election process, but if the outcome is clear, he won't have the option of defying the Electoral College. If he's clearly defeated in the polls, force will not be necessary.
But you're right that it is imperative that we work toward a decisive rejection of trumpism in 2018 and 2020

(7,434 posts)The House and Senate must be turned Democratic for action to take place quickly and decisively. GOPers have a lock on the propaganda machine with their control of Congress. They will continue to support Spanky until their support doesn't matter.

(22,917 posts)If two thirds of the Senate upholds impeachment, he is toast. Period. The question is whether he can round up 35 Republican Senators to keep him in office. If he can't even do that, then he can't hole up in the oval office, Pence will become resident. But he might put together those 35 votes,

(22,174 posts)next election in 2020, will claim fraud, and refuse to accept the results, even though I suspect (just a guess) that the results will be clearly in favor of the democratic candidate opposing RUMP. What happens then? RUMP will call his NRA buddies and they'll surround the WH?
