I just got asked if I "wanted to help out at an event for the President next week". When I heard the request, I had to make sure I was hearing what I thought I heard, so I asked "Do you mean help at an event for the President of the United States?", just to be clear. And the answer was "Yes"!!! I don't have any details yet, but there better not be any world crisis to make President Obama change his schedule.

(22,308 posts)It may be a voter registration drive or some other such thing.
Maryland doesn't seem to be in play this time around and I'm not sure why he would be holding an event there. Are you right near the Virginia boarder? Maybe they want you to help across the state line.

(22,308 posts)but "for" does not mean "with".
P.S. I spent about 10 years in and around Vail (over a 12 year span).

(31,849 posts)As a word of advise ... if you have a camera and plan to take pictures, PLEASE make sure you have one of those cords that tethers the camera to your wrist!
Take it from someone that dropped, and broke, the camera at a Michelle Obama event ... I can't imagine what would have happened if it had been a President Obama event!
Enjoy.
