White House calls deaths in Gaza 'propaganda' by Hamas
The White House on Monday called the deaths of more than 50 Palestinians on the Gaza border “propaganda” by Hamas and denied that Israel was to blame.
Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said during a White House press briefing that the violence against Palestinian protesters was a “gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt” by Hamas. “The responsibility for these tragic deaths rests squarely with Hamas,” Shah said. “Look, this is a propaganda attempt. I mean, this is a gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt.”
Shah also said about the deaths that “Israel has the right to defend itself.” At least 52 Palestinians were killed by Israeli troops and more than 2,000 were injured, many critically, according to Haaretz.
The clashes took place on the inauguration of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem – and marking the deadliest violence since the 2014 Gaza cross-border war. In a chaotic protest, protesters set tires ablaze, and hurled firebombs and stones toward Israeli soldiers across the border.

Those people are dead, aren't they? They were unarmed protesters that were fired upon mercilessly. This is entirely the fault of Israel. This whole thing makes me sick. We are going to make things in the Middle East even worse than they have ever been, I guarantee it. These bastards want a war and they will do anything to get one.
