The GOP will never do anything about gun violence. If anything they support the end of gun free zones and support open carry anything anywhere with NO restrictions OF ANY KIND. And this reality is where we are. As far as the GOP is concerned this kind of violence only happens to other. People who who are really not important or significant or does not do anything FOR THEM politically.
After all they shed crocodile tears for Gabby Gifford. They shed crocodile tears for the victims. SO NOTHING WILL EVER BE DONE EVER.

(10,602 posts)The assassination attempt was the only time the GOP got serious about gun control. A small caliber hand gun was used yet they banned assault weapons. Now assault weapons are being used and we cannot a thing done federally. If the GOP could pass totally open carry in Congress they would.

Parkland, I've got some hope. I still have hope after today.
This gun violence is not only killing our children, it's also turning the survivors into leaders who might be able to turn the tide of this horror.
I've got to hold onto hope.

(15,006 posts)even if their family members were killed. Think about how craven and immoral you would have to be to hold the position they do today, and ask would even losing family members make a difference in the face of such degeneracy.
These people don't change their position on abortion when their mistresses need, and get, one.
The inconsistency doesn't bother them because they only hold that position on this issue in the first place because of what it means for money and votes. It's a cynical political calculation from the start. As long as the money and votes aren't changing, their position won't.
