I got a notice this week from employer provided ins. co. - we're getting a rebate!

The notice is directly to me from the ins. co. that they are giving a rebate under the rules of the 85% rule of the Affordable Care Act.

Unclear to me whether I will get any $, or it goes to my employer.

But...this is great news, anyway!

I haven't received any rebate notice. Has anyone else received rebates from these companies?

Directly to employees.
I'm a benefits administrator and it's unclear at this point who gets that $, you or your employer. I would guess that it depends on how much you paid for your benefits and how much your employer paid.

So I wouldn't get a rebate notice from them until next year. If at all. If they meet the 85% rule, they don't have to give a rebate because they paid claims (the reason for the premium in the first place!).

It'll be interesting to see if my co-workers get any notice from Cigna for their policies for the past 12 mos.
