Louisiana televangelist seeks donations for $54M private jet: report

A Louisiana-based televangelist is asking his followers to donate money for a $54 million jet that can “go anywhere in the world in one stop,” The Times-Picayune reported.

Jesse Duplantis, 68, a Christian minister based in Destrehan, about 25 miles east of New Orleans, says his ministry has paid cash for three private jets.

The problem with the previous jets, he says, is that they require multiple stops to refuel. But flying the Falcon 7X, Duplantis says, will allow him to save money and not pay “those exorbitant prices with jet fuel all over the world.”

Have conveniently forgotten Jesus’s teachings about wealth.

If his followers want to supply him with the money for a shiny new jet airplane, that is up to them. I can think of far better things to do with the $54 Million, but it's their money and their choices.

“I really believe that if Jesus was physically on the earth today, he wouldn’t be riding a donkey,” Duplantis says in the video, “He’d be in an airplane preaching the gospel all over the world.”

Duplantis’ video comes after another televangelist, Kenneth Copeland in Texas, purchased the Gulfstream V jet for $36 million.

Both televangelists defended their use of private jets during a joint appearance on Copeland’s program, saying that commercial airlines filled with “a bunch of demons” that get in the way of their busy schedules.

What would Jesus ride? Public transportation, Greyhound, Amtrak and commercial airlines; because that's where he'd have the greatest impact.

The real demons are these greedy, false prophets.

This started with the 700 Club, Jerry Falwell other’s.

Billy was not blatantly greedy. He tried to stay close to Salvation. TV was just a way of getting the word out. I wish I could say the same of his Son.

I once prayed with a group of Pastors from Billy’s group.

But this is what the Association has been turned into. Please send money.

Second, as my mother got older someone asked me if we worried she would be a victim to TV evangelists. I was certain that would never happen. She was pretty vocal (at least at home) about what she thought of them. Her money was safe from those phonies.

You can seriously get ripped off on the price of jet fuel in a lot of countries. A jet like this will avoid that.

Along with Kenny Copeland. They didn’t want to come in contact with the unwashed masses because it would interfere with their communion with Jeeeeeezus.

You know flyin' commercial will put on you a hex
