"Rep. Diane Black (R-TN), a candidate for governor of Tennessee, says that pornography is a big part of the impetus for school shootings..."
"Its available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but theres pornography there, she said. All of this is available without parental guidance. I think that is a big part of the root cause."

(65,044 posts)At least for these troglodytes: It was when they took prayer out of the public schools. If someone hasn't said it on TV or the web, just wait. It will come up in just days. Guaranteed.
Them: "We didn't have these shootings when there was prayer in school."
Us: "When prayer was in school, we didn't have 50 round magazines on light weight rapid fire weapons readily available."
Them: "We need those weapons now, because they took prayer out of schools."
Then people like you me scream at the TV scream and change the channel.

(13,903 posts)went on a killing spree, killed 11 people. Granted he did not kill them in a school, but he was a bullied student.
So using the right's own standard I think we can blame Charles Starkweather on prayer in schools.
I mean why not...

(21,106 posts)is the lack of a "firm" hand on the children. In other words, if parents were still "allowed" to be the shit out of their children, none of them would be shooting up schools.

(33,345 posts)Something's got to be blamed, but it can't be too-liberal access to firearms.
The impulse to seek revenge for imagined grievances, and achieve infamy is present in many young males - they're stuffed full of testosterone and their brains aren't fully formed.
its the means to enact that revenge that should be difficult to access.

(7,725 posts)if we're just going to say anything...then it's my supposition that porn makes rich people crazy and they should donate their wealth to charity after having been exposed to it.
ASIDE...I heard that while she was making this speech, her husband was home watching porn and ordering guns online. Clean your own house first lady.
