made in the USA thus using more coal. Read about Trump's plan to save coal below:

Report: White House Could Invoke Emergency Authority to Save Coal Plants

"SNIP.......

The Trump administration reportedly plans to save struggling coal power plants by ordering grid operators to buy electricity from them, a move that Bloomberg describes as an “unprecedented intervention into U.S. energy markets.” Citing a 41-page draft memo outlining the plans, Bloomberg reports that the Energy Department wants to use emergency authority under two federal laws to force operators to buy electricity or electric generation capacity from money-losing facilities. “Federal action is necessary to stop the further premature retirements of fuel-secure generation capacity,” the memo reportedly states. The issue will reportedly be up for discussion at a National Security Council meeting on Friday. It was not immediately clear if President Trump, who repeatedly vowed to save coal plants on the campaign trail, had signed off on the plan.

Coal is dead. This is stupid and short-sighted. I can't actually believe they want to sacrifice other industries in order to save a dying coal industry. WTF?

4. Coal's death spiral, in 3 charts

https://grist.org/article/coals-death-spiral-in-3-charts/

The latest reports suggest that coal has the equivalent of black-lung disease: the condition is chronic, and the long-term prognosis is dire.

Power companies plan to shutter more than 10 big coal plants in 2018, extinguishing a major portion of coal burning in the United States (see the map below). According to projections released by the Energy Information Administration this week, coal-fired plants will produce less than 30 percent of the electricity Americans use this year. Back in 2000, coal provided more than half of our electricity. Cheap natural gas has knocked coal out of competition.

This year is expected be a big one for coal-plant retirements but, as you can see below, so was 2015, and 2012, and, well, much of the past decade.

Why do they refuse to see this reality? Why are they so stubborn about this? Anyone with half a brain can see that coal is a dying industry. The problem with republicans is that they cling to the past and are so afraid of the future, even though it has better, cheaper options to offer.

is the underpinning of the mouth-breathing fundie, racist, sexist, homophobic way of life. Most are failures in life, so they press every systemic advantage they think they have. They are bitter, hateful people because they are told that certain scapegoats are the reason for their shite lives.

I fully believe many millions of Trumpkins would take a cleaver and lop off a finger if they were guaranteed a PoC would immediately after that have a leg chopped as well.

They see people who advocate for cleaner, more efficient energy as equalling a fair shake for us PoC (as there is often intersectionality on those 2 subjects), so a big nasty coal blast, is, in their numpty minds, a punch to the face of their perceived reasons (as dictated by RW media) for their lives being shite.

The hallmark of these people is a lack of introspection. They do not lead lives of self-examination and instead point the finger at others for their own lack of success in life. It is completely unproductive because they will never change until they realize the problem is in them.

I think that explains their anger and bitterness. They have no power when the locus of control is outside themselves. The only way to be empowered is for them to take responsibility for their lives and own their situations. Only then can they have the power to turn things around. As long as they blame others they will be powerless.

Plus they seem to really want to increase global warming. But really it is that they want money in the hands of right wingers and fossil fuel owners are all republicans. So it is about power too. Sun, wind and geothermal put money in the hands of the middle class who can afford to install it.

Republicans are so short-sighted. They can't see beyond the next generation and frankly they don't care. They don't care that their children or grandchildren will suffer for what they do now. They want to suck every ounce of profit out of the earth that they can NOW and to hell with the consequences. I hate them. I really hate them.
