indeed, getting tariffs right is extremely complicated business, especially once you throw in the inevitable retaliation.

this is not something you want an easily manipulated, ignorant fool like donnie messing around with.

It could be argued we need more good, high paying jobs though. Haven't looked at the job report in detail to see whether the new job creation is that or McJob's. Could be that we are generating good paying work here in the US, and then your point would be even more salient.

But, either way, the trade wars don't make any sense economically.

PINO thinks trade wars are easy to win, when in reality nobody wins. It's a bad idea no matter how it's executed, and PINO is the last person who should be trusted with implementing such a tactic. (Note, i said tactic because there is nothing strategic about such a move.)

he's appealing to coal miners, as if his tariffs somehow help them, and he's appealing to some vague sense that we've been taken advantage of somehow. so, the economy's great, unemployment is low, and yet somehow we're getting ripped off. all righty then.
