Three days after ABC cancelled 'Roseanne' and reruns were pulled from other networks, Roseanne Barr said in a now-deleted tweet that she wants to call Valerie Jarrett, George Soros and Michelle Wolf, all of whom she has blasted on Twitter, to apologize:

"Attempting to also get phone numbers for Jarrett, Michelle and GS to personally apologize to them tho I disagree with their politics. I was still wrong 2 dehumanize them-they r not my enemy, harboring hate & anger is my enemy. I can speak respectfully 2 those w whom I disagree."

The big picture: With her future earning potential on life support, Roseanne is pulling out all the stops — if she does indeed make the phone calls — to salvage goodwill with the public.

It's the only thing that really works short of killing them. Talking to them is meaningless, they view it as a sign of weakness. Punching them, while extremely satisfying, only plays into their sense of being persecuted for "their beliefs." Debating them is pointless, they don't live in a world of facts or logic.

But shaming them? Taking away their livelihood? Making them afraid to show their faces outside? That, more than anything else I've ever seen, will make a racist change their tune faster than anything else. Aaron Schlossberg, The Charlottesville Nazis, Milo Yinnapolous, and now Roseanne. All of them started singing a different tune when they started getting publicly shamed and shunned.

Dox them, harass them, make them feel unsafe anywhere. That's how you fight back. And that's the only thing that's going to work in the long term.
