The c word is still pretty impolite, though. But I'd rather hear it a hundred times a hundred times than have one more mass shooting.

of the English speaking world, the C-word is used indiscriminately without regard to gender as a derogatory insult. It is only Americans who absolutely lose their shit over it's use.

Ted Nugent has used the term to describe Hillary regularly, and he got an invitation to the White House.

Apparently, Donald Trump used the term to describe Sally Yates, the former assistant AG, and that was okay.

And White Evangelicals have NO trouble using the term when trolling any progressive woman on Twitter.

The real obscenity is the slaughter of America's youth, not words.

I used to work for an Australian country and there were many Aussies working here. The "c-word" is hardly anything more than saying "mate" to a good friend.

Advice to those who hate the word: do not ever go to see Jim Jeffries in concert. Or John Valby.

A person in America can be against both. Just like people in Australia can be against both.

You have to go on a diet....or worry about kids getting slaughtered in school.

Or...you can be outraged by what Roseanne said...or worry about mass shootings.

It doesn't make sense to me is all. Trying to connect two different things that implies you can't do one if you do the other.

this vile word had left for the "other place." I LOVE Samantha Bee AND I HATE that she said that. Yes, Republicans are GIANT HYPOCRITES about just about everything... and they are also misogynist pigs who delighted in calling Clinton c*ut and b*itch, gendered slurs that don't have equivalent male counterparts. Racism is BAD... and so is sexism.

I'm not Australian. I believe in strict gun control. And I am VERY offended by what Samantha Bee said; it is was demoralizing enough to hear it from the assholes on the right--and too many on the "left"-- every damn day of the campaign (and for the rest of eternity, it seems, since they can't let go of their favorite target). One can't help but notice that several of the recent young male mass shooters seem to be in part motivated by deep-seated misogyny. Maybe we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
