Lewandowski: D'Souza pardon a 'one-off opportunity'

Corey Lewandowski on Sunday described President Trump’s pardon of conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza as a “one-off opportunity.”

“I don’t know of the president’s relationship with Dinesh D’Souza. I have never met Dinesh D’Souza, so I don’t think there was a strong relationship between the president and him,” Lewandowski, who served as Trump's campaign manager, told “Fox News Sunday.”

Lewandowski pushed back on an assertion from former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone, who said in a recent interview that the president was sending a “signal” to special counsel Robert Mueller by pardoning D’Souza.

"Indict people for crimes that don’t pertain to Russian collusion and this is what could happen," Stone told The Washington Post.

Lewandowski on Sunday rejected this characterization, saying the pardon “is not a sign."
