14. No, the NY double jeopardy law does not apply here. Fed vs State Tax evasion is different.

Tax fraud related to federal income tax is not the same act as tax fraud related to New York tax. If you hit someone in the head the federal prosecution applies to the same act - hitting him in the head - as the New York law. But federal tax fraud with all the different calculations, forms, tax rates, exclusions, different amounts of income included, is like kicking him in the groin. New York tax fraud where only New York connected income is taxed compared to world wide income taxed on the federal return, different deductions, exclusions, carry forwards and carry back, different credits, is like poking him in the eye. Under the ny double jeopardy law if the Feds prosecute you for kicking him in the groin New York can still prosecute you for the different act of poking him in the eye. The New York double jeopardy law will not save Manafort from New York prosecution of fraud on a New York income tax return.

16. New York expressly excludes tax violations from double jeopardy protection

I was wrong in my reasoning in myfirst response to you. But right in the result. Despite my intuition that federal tax evasion is a different act from New York State tax evasion Leona Helmsly persuaded a New York judge that my view, also the view of New York tax authorities, was wrong, that federal tax evasion is really the same act as New York tax evasion. But that ruling pissed off New York officials so New York in 2011 passed a specific law saying that the New York prohibition against double jeopardy does not apply to tax laws. If you are tried For Federal tax evasion New York is free to try and prosecute you for New York tax evasion as well.

are maybe spilling the beans he's starting to talk, or trump could just be scared he knows both he and cohen will turn on him soon, if not already. Many more will turn on trump, all because he's hated so much by many, and they know they can't trust trump over Mueller. Manafort has got so much against him he'd be an idiot to not turn while he can, and before their offer goes away. Cohen is in that same situation , and knows he has to deal with Mueller knowing trump like he does.

Or they would gut his wife and daughters. Write Manafort off - he's gonna be spending the rest of his natural life in jail,but at least his family will be alive.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

....Paul Manafort came into the campaign very late and was with us for a short period of time (he represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole & many others over the years), but we should have been told that Comey and the boys were doing a number on him, and he wouldn’t have been hired!

11. Why shouldnt he? Manafort KNOWS what trump is guilty of...... Cohen does too...do they not

expect him to be found guilty if something that might land trump in jail or impeached? Who is gonna pardon him then? Pence? ha probably not. They all need to save their own skins now. Hell by the time everyones trials are over and sentencing etc..Trump probably wont even be in office anymore!

15. Don't forget that Manafort's son-in-law flipped a couple weeks ago

... the partner was already flipped last winter (Jan. or Feb. I think.) Something's gonna happen really soon, this week I think.

Manafort will have to disappear and get a new identity or the Russians would find him and kill him before he can flip.
