Disturbing trend I've noticed.

Anyone else get a computer crash, WI-FI shut down, when clicking on Democratic Underground? Wonder if this has to do w net neutrality laws the FCC has enabled recently? Rarely if ever happens, but ALWAYS when clicking on DU. Anyone else experiencing this? I watch netflix, youtube etc...no problem on the bandwidth or WI-FI...click on DU...and suddenly the router crashes. Just asking. Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Thank you. I do unplug it often and click it off when I go to work or out of my house. I appreciate that. Only DU. Does this site use like an incredible amount of bandwidth? I know close to zero about computers being old. I'm lucky to even be typing here to be honest, no FB etc at all.

I thought it was worth it to say something. I go to very few websites. Porn...hahaha. I'm so old...porn for me is a good book. I rarely go anywhere except Amazon, DU, Huff Post, and Youtube. Not a 'far ranger' when it comes to the internet. Pretty tame internet user. Ty for your input.

It became very noticeable after the net neutrality stuff with DU — very, very slow, etc. It only happens at certain times as well. We also have a very up to date system — I don’t trust our provider but who knows. But it only happens with this site primarily and one other site occasionally (again left wing politics).

You might want to check your internet security program settings and update/upgrade as needed. Sometimes malware, or even ads, can trip up hardware, but a good security program should be able to clean your system and block further infections.

Adding:

Porn websites are notorious for slipping all kinds of bad, very aggressive nasty things into your computer. Use at your own risk.
