to hang himself. Eventually it will be Trump himself that will bring him down. We all know he will say something; tweet something; or do something that will be the cause of his demise.

(6,377 posts)Trump does have a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. But I doubt a prosecutor of Mueller's expertise would have a strategy of, do nothing and hope the other person messes up.

(7,947 posts)I was just remembering that Dr. Bornstein item, you know, that some Trump thugs burst into his office and seized the medical charts of Trump.
Also Bornstein then admitted that of course Trump had dictated the letter supposedly from the doctor about what amazing health he was in.
Just one minor weirdness that disappeared-- thugs bursting into his dr's office????

Text of the tweet:
The President cannot pardon himself. The origin of the pardon, which is rooted in the divine right of kings, implies a grantor and a grantee.
Coming soon from Fruity G: An ADA claim that this theory doesn't apply to people who suffer from multiple personality disorder. 🙄

(1,216 posts)and prosecution will have to wait until tRump is out of office.
I seriously doubt tRump will run in 2020, and if he does, he will lose.
However if the blue wave takes over congress, impeachment will take him out. That is more likely than Mueller be able to remove him from office.

(5,008 posts)with Trump about a job after the election. Why in the world would any decent human being want to work for Trump?? And no I dont believe that someone would do it to protect us from Trump. Anyway, I think he will come down hard on the people around Trump but will Trump off scot free. It is an election year and he will not want to interfere with that.

(32,639 posts)Yes I know the Rep from Ohio's name is John Boehner and I do know how to pronounce it correctly. But for several years I got a sneaky thrill out of calling him Boner, just because. And many other Democrats did the same.
It's all in fun, of course.

(19,984 posts)If Mueller's family is German the name is probably spelled with a "ü" in German which is usually translated as "ue" in English. The sound of ü in German is kind of a cross between "mule" and "mull" so it's probably acceptable either way.

And I still am not convinced it will hang Trump.
With the whole Republican party in his ass he will have plenty of opportunity to escape unscathed.

(26,044 posts)...Cox/Jaworski took a long time to investigate Nixon, too, but Democrats held Congress throughout that period, and were able to keep the spotlight focused on Watergate, most notably with the months-long televised Senate Committee hearings. By contrast, while Mueller and his staff painstakingly investigate, the scandal has slipped entirely under the radar. At this point, more and more people seem to have become reconciled to the notion of Trump being president (and, frankly, are discovering that things seem to be going on much the same as usual for they themselves with him in power). I greatly fear that, by the time Mueller releases his report, however damning it may be, it will be shrugged-off as "yesterdays news" by a public for whom, despite our efforts, Trump will have become "normalized."
