Last few days that worked on his campaign in 68, said they called office she was at right after he was shot and everyone was shocked and crying. Told me she hasn’t worked in politics since.

I guess it really affected her. She keeps up with things but not as political as me. Must be hard on her, daughter has turned last few years to republican.

combined to take me out of politics for a long, long time.

I found causes to work for but not politicians.

I was a young teenager inspired by JFK who campaigned for RFK, touted the wisdom of MLK to anyone who would listen and demonstrated against Johnson's Vietnam war and Nixon having nothing to hide.

I guess I got tired of getting my heart broken or got disillusioned. The innocence of the ideals of the constitution seemed shattered by the many wrongs behind those evil deeds that did not represent the will of the people.

It was a series of nasty, bad wounds that in spite of the deep scars, will never completely heal. Politics in the world changed forever during those days.

Just wondering? He could have learned a lot from RFK. A great statesman that served his country well.

Mind you it was June, in Northern Mexico, and I was twelve.

But I knew even then, living in Mexico, what a horrible tragedy this was.

And I expressed my grief and sorrow in the only way that I could.

I was up feeding him and watching Bobby's victory speech.. it was 4am on the east coast. Boom, it happened. My phone rang. It was my mom. I'll never forget it. She said "he got another one. He'll kill us all."

She honestly believed Allen Dulles and his CIA minions were behind all the 60's assassinations. Much to her relief, Dulles died the following year.

It was hard not to be so from an Irish Catholic family from Massachusetts.

My dad woke me and said what happened. I couldn’t believe it. I had before bought a paperback book about him, mostly of photos of him with captions. I, in my child mind, was so captured by how he reached out to all people. He seemed so good.

I still basically feel the same way about him though I know why I do with lots more information. He was a good person.

Dad worked on Robert Kennedy's campaign. I have a letter thanking my dad for his help. It was a tragic day when RFK died.
