There's no way such a large number can be housed and fed adequately. That's a huge population.

Are we going to become like Nazi Germany where the people turned the other way while people were shuffled into concentration camps? "We had no idea those camps were there ... we didn't know what was going on"

Are all ICE and border cops monsters? Will nobody from the inside speak out? I'm enraged this could happen. So Rachel is reporting it, but it's not on the "news" at all.

this topic needs to be hammered into our so called Congress this is not humane or civilized. We need to get on the phones and consistently call our congress people, or this situation will get worse and it is effecting children.

They can kiss that O tolerance crap away. This is being done in our name, we should not stand for this at all.

Very few of these people will be granted asylum. I was just reading abut a father that was caught in the desert with his 18 month old son. After separating the father from his son and putting the son in one these facilities. They deported the father. It was months later that they deported the baby. This is just outrageous.

Like I said, I don't care how people feel about immigration, but people should be able to agree that children should not be ripped away from their parents. Toddlers should not be taken away from their fathers and mothers given to strangers. They are not being smuggled as Jeff Sessions and the like are saying. These desperate parents are seeking the same thing that American parents want for their children. A better life. If the USA, is going to deny them that, at least do the right thing and keep them together as a family unit.

6. Taking Migrant Children From Parents Is Illegal, U.N. Tells U.S.

That practice “amounts to arbitrary and unlawful interference in family life, and is a serious violation of the rights of the child,” Ravina Shamdasani, a spokeswoman for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, based in Geneva, told reporters.

The United States ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki R. Haley, clearly showed American irritation with the accusation in a statement released a few hours later.

Without addressing the specifics of the accusation, Ms. Haley said: “Neither the United Nations nor anyone else will dictate how the United States upholds its borders.”

under our law. When with their parents, the parents could speak for them, explain why they're refugees and entitled to asylum, and seek an attorney for them. When our government took them away from their parents, a lawyer should have been appointed.

Another authoritarian abuse of basic, very well established American principles.
