We had too many good Dem candidates in this red Orange County area that Hillary wom in 2016.

So far, with 16% reporting, the top 4 candidates are:

Rohrabacher (R) 30%
Keirstead (D) 19%
Baugh (R) 18%
Rouda (D) 14%

But with our jungle primary, the top two vote getters go to runoff in November, regardless of party . If Baugh overtakes Keirstead, that means both of our choices in November will be Republicans!

Please think good thoughts there in paradise for us here in 48th district hell.

I've been wanting to ask this.. and it might be a silly question.. But, why can't the Gov of California and the Cal Dem Senate do away with this "Jungle Primary" unfair nonsense?

Is it the only state that has this unfair process?

Very Best Wishes for Dems-48th District.. and all Dems to Win in all the Primaries so they can Compete in November, SunSeeker!

12. Our last GOP Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, pushed it through in exchange for agreeing to taxes.

So we got the jungle primary in exchange for a tax increase on the rich. Both passed by referendum. If disaster strikes tonight, I imagine there will be a move to return to closed party primaries.

this year. I drove around with huge V O T E signs taped to my car all over town and got a lot of good responses from pedestrians and other drivers though.

I wonder where in CA that is? El Cerrito?

I am glad for the turnout but was sort of hoping for it to be Rohrabacher's, Royce's or Nunes's district with a big Dem turnout.

My neighbors are Dems though so at least we have some like minded folks very nearby.
