(22,369 posts)That's what I get from the summary - so it isn't just random activity. Definitely a prearranged communication, happening regularly.
DNS queries are usually "what is the address for this host name". Not sure why the pattern of these indicates replication - that part needs more explanation.

(29,205 posts)and some other server... triplication... If I had to guess, it would be either Hadoop or possibly Swift object store setup to do automated triplication (although I have never studied the replication pattern of either object store).
The default mode of these distributed object stores is 3 servers usually geographically separated.
In any event this doesn't tell use what was in the data that was being triplicated. But it would tell the FBI where to look for the records.

(9,481 posts)Spectrum Health in Michigan was mentioned in the article. I looked Spectrum Health up in Wikipedia and the the CEO is Richard C Breon. [link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrum_Health| ]
I then did a search on him to see what was his history. I found this article [link:http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2017/10/longtime_spectrum_health_ceo_r.html|] announcing that he was retiring at the end of 2018. In the article, it says DICK DEVOS is the chairman of the health system's board of directors.
I am not certain if this is Betsy's husband [link:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_DeVos|], but I bet the chances are better than average that if it's not him its a relative
