NFL Network: Only One Single Player Was Set to Attend Philadelphia Eagles Event at White House
by Caleb Howe | 7:52 am, June 6th, 2018
The NFL Networks Mike Garafolo was able to get confirmation on Tuesday that the number of players from the Philadelphia Eagles who were confirmed to attend the White House event celebrating their Super Bowl victory was less even than the 10 or fewer number they first reported on Monday.
In fact, the only person they knew was confirmed to attend was Super Bowl MVP Quarterback Nick Foles. There would potentially have been at most two additional players, for a total of three or fewer, said Garafolo.
The White House said no thanks, as Garafolo put it.
President Donald Trump abruptly disinvited the Super Bowl-Champions on Monday, after finding out that most of the team would not be attending the celebration. In a statement, he blamed the cancellation on national anthem protests, but none of the Eagles knelt for the anthem during last season. After calling off the event, Trump instead held a separate event to celebrate America.

(182,830 posts)His family, especially his father, is evangelical and driven. I can find the article but basically his father started working at Shoney's and ended up owning the chain. He sold it a few years ago.
Foles grew up in an ultra white and very rich area outside Austin TX. The sports teams were very successful mostly due to drive from from the parents (and the kids) and fantastic facilities and coaching. Foles dad was at every practice - not just games. Foles never played with a black person until he got to college.

(5,810 posts)at yesterdays celebrate America event and tell that he thought he won. He was about to bust his buttons as he took in the scene, the audience (all looking at HIM!) and the praise he assumed was all about him. He really is a pathetic excuse for a human being. By now, most Presidents have enjoyed enough of the pomp and circumstance of the job. It is just a part of the position they must endure. But NOT tRump. He simply cannot get enough of it. And as long as he draws breath, he will be looking for more of the same. It is this particular narcissists idea of heaven. Never ending deference and praise.
Excuse me while I go barf. 🤢
