'Every suburban Republican should be petrified' after Democrat wins Missouri special election

Travis Gettys 06 JUN 2018 AT 09:22 ET

A Democrat won a special election Tuesday in a Missouri district that carried President Donald Trump — and Republicans say that race should serve as a warning.

Democratic state Rep. Lauren Arthur soundly defeated state Rep. Kevin Corlew for a state Senate seat in the north suburbs of Kansas City that has been held by the GOP for more than a decade, reported the Kansas City Star.

“Every suburban Republican should be petrified tonight,” one Republican strategist told the Star. “This devastating loss signals they could lose this fall.”

How families will be so much better off with a Dem representing their day to day interests.

Terrifying?

Those damn democrats trying to force health care for all and decent wages and working conditions!

Why the next thing you know the EPA will be back to making clean water for all, the godless commies!

Why the deplorables want to live in a Randian hellscape, I'll never know.

The whiny GOP toddlers can take their temper tantrums elsewhere.

more like sure to lose. It will be a different vision come next Nov. We have to wait and see just how big the win is. But it should definitely be a major Trump and all things GOP repudiation. At least GWBush had the moxie to say that the GOP took a thumping in his 2nd mid-term. Trump, of course, will admit no such thing. And instead whine that the election was rigged with thousands of ineligible voters (e.g. black and brown voters). Wonder if he'll try to use the old ACORN canard? And then there's Mueller - still working away.
