Why isn't what is going on with children being separated from their parents the biggest news story?

Everyone should be outraged and the news programs should be leading with this story every night. If the news won't do it we need to drive it to the top with social media.

With the exception of Fox and their ilk, I think most news writers, producers and anchors are liberal to moderate-leaning. However, keep in mind that at the top of everything are some very large corporate bodies, largely run by some very rich, very old, very white, very straight men. And they often have the final word on what is considered newsworthy.

Bad stuff happening to poor brown people is just not on their radar. And the really awful thing is, they are not necessarily racist. It's just not on their radar. Never has been. Even if you showed them a picture or two, it might not necessarily hit them in the empathy place. Not sure what would jog their complacency, but it would have to be atom bomb-sized.

engineered by Reagan, Ailes, Murdoch, and Stone over the past 30 years has come to fruition and drowns out any attempts at normal thinking. Our country is in serious trouble as there is no way out of this quagmire... unless the demographics we hear so much about take hold and said demographic groups get off their fannies and vote.

Until then, we are diminishing ourselves to banana republic status.

That should happen, BTW. Not for meanness sake, but so he might have a chance at becoming a normal, functioning human.

And oh so much more.

The masters of distraction are highly skilled at their craft and the country, and punditry, is largely made up of rubes.
