Long prison sentences for non-violent offenders is bullshit.

I don't care about who does the pardoning or the rationale used. I don't care if it involves trump, Kardashian, or the Pillsbury Dough Boy as long as it's done. Pardon away.

One down and untold thousands to go.

Anyone serving a ridiculously long sentence for the same offense should be released if they have done nothing else wrong.

i agree that long prison sentences for mere purchase/possession of drugs is stupid.

but, say, a third conviction for defrauding thousands of seniors out of their life savings?
non-violent, but i have no problem with a very long prison sentence there.

As the saying goes..."Steal a million with a gun, or steal a million through fraud, see which one gets the longer sentence."

Case closed.

She was arrested in 1993 as part of an operation that transported cocaine from Houston to Memphis, relaying coded messages between conspirators.

This is not a minor possession rap and not all people incarcerated for non-violet offences are miscarriages of justice.
