He put his bottle on the ground because he was afraid his bottle would get mixed up with Pence or Melania's bottle. Of course, Pence being a spineless copycat (or potentially using the love mirroring behavior technique??) messed up dump's plan by putting his bottle on the floor too. I bet dump never touched the bottle again after that.

And Pence, being the spineless hunch of crap that he is, agreed to secretly trade water bottles under the table with Trump at every meeting, so if anybody was killed it would not be Dear Leader.
