(3,493 posts)This whole Eagles team is brilliant. First they win the Super Bowl over the Evil Empire and then they stick a thumb in the eye of Тяцмр while standing for great causes.
I couldnt be prouder of my team.

These guys do so much for others!

"Do you want help?" Asked the reporter on his left.

(65,409 posts)not that it did much good, since they still didn't get it.

(2,692 posts)I have no animus with the press asking questions. But persisting in asking question of man who was, for gawd's sake, holding up a sign saying "you're not listening" . . . . seems, maybe, a little, I dunno, stupid?

(129,130 posts)and all those mikes were local Philly sports/news reporters. White privilege means they can comfortably be completely clueless about what the "message" is (and don't care) and the point of why people "take the knee", preferring instead to keep repeating the drivel coming from the dolt in the WH.

(28,799 posts)let's just talk about trump, not the country. not injustice.
kudos to Jenkins. he got some facts out there.

(11,569 posts)It boggles the mind that purportedly educated reporters could ask such annoyingly insensitive questions, while shoving a microphone in Malcolm Jenkins' face, and blatantly ignore his message on the posters. Therein lies a big part of the problem with the fourth estate.

(82,849 posts)"We'd like to cover this as a personal spat between you and Donald Trump. It's a story we're comfortable telling, and is easy to write. I'm in the lounge for cocktails by 5:30. But when you're holding up these signs with numbers and statistics and other stuff we don't understand or care about, it makes our job harder. Why don't you act the way we want you to act?"

(5,402 posts)They want to dumb it down to the lowest common denominator, which allows them to get a "story" out without having to do due diligence or to actually wrestle with anything too difficult.

(5,624 posts)Especially the abc guy. but they don't know that.

(6,918 posts)He was loved in New Orleans, and we still love him for what he and Darren Sproles did for the Philadelphia team all its citizens.
But this street theater is beyond anything he's ever done. It is pure genius.
The problem is, the media gives free coverage to nonsense, and gave so much free coverage to Trump it swung the election.
If they are gonna stick a camera in your face, make the image what YOU want. Well done, Malcolm Jenkins, well done.

(1,822 posts)So proud...not happy with Luries silence. He was the kid on the playground bullied by the likes of the Traitor in Chief, that a Jenkins no doubt protected...
