Im struck by the Deplorables life views. Idiocracy right? Only meaner. I can picture Trump in the place of President Camacho. The Republicans could quite easily be pictured wearing clothing made up of corporate logos.
Fox News fits right in with Idiocracy. The EPA will create the Great Garbage landslide eventually. If 44% of the population approves of Trump will it take long for us to become the IQ minority.
I need to see the movie again, but Im afraid to. There might be too many other similarities!
The 24-hour news cycle, even on CNN, that continually broadcasts images of and normalizes this Orange Nightmare befouling the Oval Office is dizzying. And you can be sure the Deplorables say "more better."

And as a whole, there were many people in that low-brow world who seemed to feel, however vaguely and poorly-defined, that this is not how things were supposed to be; things were supposed to be better than this, and it was possible to make it so.
That really helped...

(5,210 posts)Kakistocracy - a term meaning a state or country run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was first coined by English author Thomas Love Peacock in 1829, but was rarely used until the 21st century.
Embellished and augmented, perhaps, by kleptocracy.
