GOP house votes to cut funding for CHIP and jobs

CHILDREN. The GOP voted to cut health care for CHILDREN. Dems stayed fast.

JUST IN: On a party-line vote, @HouseGOP passed the Trump-GOP rescissions package that eliminates Children's Health Insurance Program funding and cuts programs that create jobs & strengthen communities.

I think the GOP house members just committed political suicide.

This craven group of a-holes in the GOP controlled congress are despicable beyond words. They are making the wet dream of drowning this country in a bathtub a reality with each passing day. Unbelievable...😡

5. This is PROBABLY not as bad as it appears. They are "taking back" prior UNSPENT appropriations.

Supposedly, it does not impact future spending on CHIP, although there IS some contingency money taken back that the trump admin says isn't needed going forward. The basic CHIP program remains, until trump feels the needs to punish parents and kids.

Not sure about the real impact on jobs programs. If it really is taking back money that wasn't spent and really is not needed for forseeable future, might not be too bad. But, who can trust trump admin to determine whether funding is needed?
