In 2018 and 2020, we need to vote for OUTCOMES.
Purity of ideology needs to take a seat, temporarily. Here's why:
If we insist on ideological purity and lose, we accomplish absolutely nothing. The other side gains power and the course of history goes the wrong way. If we vote for outcomes, together, we can regain control of our federal, state and local governments. Once we do that, we can begin to correct the wrongs done when we were out of power.
Then, and only then, we can start to replace individual elected officials with ones who are closer to our ideals, ideologically speaking. Until then, however, we must retain control of government to prevent the disastrous consequences of control by our opponents. Call it pragmatism, if you wish, but the alternative is further erosion of our rights.
Come together in 2018 and 2020, bring as many voters who agree to the polls as possible, and we will win the outcomes battle. Then, we can work on ideological purity. Not before. Only when we are on the winning side is that possible. Until we understand that and act on that understanding, the Right will prevail and the outcomes will be negative.
