Barack Obama✔ @BarackObama

“Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer.” This is how I’ll remember Tony. He taught us about food — but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together. To make us a little less afraid of the unknown. We’ll miss him.

During his early travel show (A Cook's Tour 2002) he couldn't get through an episode without making an Apocalypse Now reference, he loved that movie and that's why he went to the country originally. Smart, fun, talented, honest, etc. He will be missed. Here's a nice cold one for you Tony.

He brought a real sense of respect to the Office.

We can get back to that again. I truly believe that.

@Bourdain thank you for a life that inspired and humbled us all. You were a mad genius. A contrarian. A wandering stone. One with many talents and passions and loves. You will be missed.

The very first time I encountered AB, it was on his travelfood show No Reservations, and it didn't take long to see the pun. He had few reservations about very few topics, and didn't mind saying what he thought.

The episode was about his tour of Brittany and "When do I get my seafood tower?" I was fascinated by him and his style, and the offbeat nature of his show.

The other two that really stood out for me were the one in NY where he ended up having to peel an octopus tentacle off the inside of his cheek because it had latched on - sans octopus - before he could swallow it and the one to villages in Laos.

"What do you say to your host who has lost a leg to a land mine your country dropped into his?"

Continued adventuring, Tony....engaged and unafraid.

He can't tweet about a man he never even knew existed.

Just wait til Ted Nugent passes away. THEN you'll see some tweets from Trump. Make sure you do so on an empty stomach, though. You're bound to lose whatever was in there if you don't.
