If you want to get these people on your side, you need to lie to their faces. As a party, we’re way too honest, and these people don’t want the truth. They want a fairy tale that they can vote for.

Tell them that you’re going to bring coal and manufacturing back, and that you are the answer to all of their problems. You can do this without being the demagogue that Trump is.

My brother in law is one of them. He has always viewed me as the loony liberal from San Francisco. He looks down on me yet, he had lost several jobs over the years and lives paycheck to paycheck. He has to lease a new car every year and looks down on me for driving a 15 year old car. ( I told him as long as it runs ok why buy new?) My sister in law asked us to cosign on a $65,000 student loan for her son to go to aviation school, because they have declared bankruptcy twice and their credit is bad. I said no as I deal with the finances in my family and have good credit and abhor debt. Only have my mortgage and a new car loan( 15 year old car finally died) It has caused a problem in the family. But twitler supporter brother in law thinks I am still a loser. And don’t get me started on how he looks down on my autistic son. He’s never been nice to him and my son knows it.
