about free speech, which he seems to equate with consequence-free speech so I tune out when he starts on that. If there is something of more substance I'll revisit it; is there?

What exactly has he done lately, apart from defending Roseanne Barr in that segment?

and conservatives that the MSM uses and for the same reason -- it's a profitable mix. Only the style changes.

As for what he's done, besides developing a successful money-making formula for himself, what have his kind of shallowly clever whiners and complainers ever accomplished? They're just another of the anchors society always has to drag up the hill.

of some nasty characters right now. A win that doesn't lead to legislative or judicial power is not much of a win these days.

This was a vehicle for trashing liberals along with conservatives, the same false equalizations between the two used to maximize viewship and profits by the MSM. An extremely low, cynical cliche. But this one panders to a special taste for being kicked around and sneered at.

I'm wondering, why don't people who like this immediately recognize this trash talking about themselves for what it is? You wouldn't stand and laugh if someone repeatedly insulted you to your face, at least not for long, so why this truly contemptible show?

Sure, there are some silly ideologues on the left who mistake rigid, narrow-minded thinking and knee-jerk intolerance for principle and morality, but they're a noisy minority. Regular plain old liberals are too sensible in the way we commit to equality, good schools, good healthcare, and, yes, free speech, for what this guy's pushing. We're the ones who don't provide silly material and make easy butts for jerks like this one to kick for laughs and sneers.

I think you should examine who you are against who he claims you are and, hopefully, end up offended. Very offended.
