Your Facebook data was accessible to corporate snoops long after the company's supposed clean-up

A Wall Street Journal report likely means more scrutiny for the beleaguered social media giant.

ALAN PYKE JUN 10, 2018, 2:29 PM

Facebook kept providing user data to several corporate partners well after the date in 2015 that executives have claimed it had shuttered access to it, the Wall Street Journal reports.

News that some firms got special treatment, and inconsistencies in Facebook’s own public testimony about when and how it changed its data-access agreements, is likely to fuel ongoing scrutiny of the social media platform.

The company has been in the hot seat with lawmakers and consumer advocates on multiple continents for more than a year, after investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 election revealed Facebook was a hot zone for political manipulation throughout that campaign.

The newly revealed special agreements allowed certain firms to continue accessing detailed data on users, including meta-analyses generated by Facebook itself that are useful to advertisers and app developers, long after the 2015 hard-stop it has previously said it imposed on those agreements.

They gathered that info & sold it, traded it, offered data packages specifically bundled, to high bidders around the world.
They made billions of dollars for themselves from gathering & selling our personal info.

They sit at the top of the wealth heap.
They no longer need another thing from people.

This was the greatest sinister theft, the biggest scam & abuse of human trust with the sole iintent of self enrichment.
People are discardable at this point as they have already stripped us clean of our most basic possesion & built their place of power & position.

They really won't need anything else from us.
They don't care if we live or if we just disappear.

manipulate them. I think a lot of people think of FB differently now. I’ve gotten through some thick skulls about them trying to gun up anger over things that do not matter at all.
