All the reasons why the NK-summit will be a failure for Trump:

1. He's stressed out. He was at the G7 and wasn't treated like he's somebody special. He wasn't catered to, which he saw as a profound unfairness.

So, that's stress plus bad mood.



2. He needs a win. He desperately needs a win. Any win. The Russia-investigation on his heels, his domestic agenda running into roadblocks everywhere, the surprise that other countries can levy tariffs on the US... The NK-summit must be a win. It must lead to something, anything, he can sell to the media as a win.

So, that's stress plus bad mood plus desperation.



3. He's not prepared. He thinks that the summit will boil down to charisma and charming and improvisation. Meanwhile Kim Jong Un rules his country with an iron fist, with brutality, with ruthlessness, with absolute control over everything. Kim Jong Un won't take any chances by being unprepared. And it will be easier for him to score a win than for Trump to score a win: All Kim Jong Un needs is some publicity that portrays him as equal to the President of the United States. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

So, that's stress plus bad mood plus desperation plus lack of preparation.



4. NK has the Iran-deal that Trump broke. (Trump didn't leave the Iran-deal, because leaving it was no legal option. He broke the deal.) Whatever Trump offers, Kim Jong Un can point to the broken Iran-deal and demand securities and insurances that Trump will keep his side of the deal.

So, that's stress plus bad mood plus desperation plus lack of preparation plus a weaker hand in negotiations.



Now YOU imagine going into an important summit or exam like that.

This is a Putin-China controlled puppet show; both own Trump like a timeshare and benefit from propping him up.

That's how bad it is.

2. And, he needs some ol' time prostitution sex -- arranged by his fixer,

including a NDA.

3. Also, Trump is an instant gratification-type person.

He wants an agreement immediately. He doesn't want to wait for anything.

4. At best, they'll come out with a joint statement that they will work on an agreement, lifting

sanctions, etc., over the coming months.

That would not be a bad thing, although I'm sure that process will break down numerous times since no one can trust trump and working with the fools in his administration has to be difficult. I'm sure there will be much the same from the North Koreans as well. Besides, NK would be fools to give up nukes totally.

5. An agreement to keep talking is the best-case scenario. Because Kim is just playing for time.

He doesn't want an agreement. He wants time: He wants to stay in power as long as possible.

If the US spends the next 20 years talking to Kim, and Kim spends the next 20 years in power as a dictator, that's a win for him. He gets what he wants without delivering anything.
