President Donald Trump plans to visit Andersen Air Force Base on Guam and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii on his return from a historic summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un in Singapore, the Associated Press is reporting, quoting a statement from the White House.
This will be Trump's first visit to Guam since assuming the presidency in 2016.
Trump's visit will also be about 10 months after the president called Gov. Eddie Calvo in August 2017, assuring Calvo that the United States is with Guam "a thousand percent" and it is "safe," amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and North Korea with Guam in the crosshairs.
At the time, North Korea said it would launch missiles toward Guam.
