I hate to say it but the Heritage Foundation expert nailed it.

This is very disappointing. Each of the four main points was in previous documents with NK, some in a stronger, more encompassing way. The denuke bullet is weaker than the Six Party Talks language. And no mention of CVID*, verification, human rights.

So we are going to decouple militarily from South Korea, i.e. remove troops and cancel joint military exercises, for vague promises. If the American people buy this tomfoolery they deserve everything they get. Sigh.

I do not know about all four of the main points, but I thought we were always allowed to get the remains of service members from North Korea. So, do the remains that I keep hearing about come from South Korea?

Cheeto could make his pitch. That's all he ever wanted, no matter what he had to give up on the US side. He might have even given him plutonium if it meant Cheeto could get a high-rise or a golf course out of it.

Nothing of substance is going to come from such tomfoolery, even if the principals had any substance, which neither does.

But the irony today is what Bolton said 16 years ago in front of the Heritage Foundation as part of his extension of Shrub's "Axis of Evil" -

Beyond the Axis of Evil: Additional Threats from Weapons of Mass Destruction

May 6, 2002

<...>

Next is North Korea. North Korea has a dedicated, national-level effort to achieve a BW capability and has developed and produced, and may have weaponized, BW agents in violation of the Convention. Despite the fact that its citizens are starving, the leadership in Pyongyang has spent large sums of money to acquire the resources, including a biotechnology infrastructure, capable of producing infectious agents, toxins, and other crude biological weapons. It likely has the capability to produce sufficient quantities of biological agents for military purposes within weeks of deciding to do so, and has a variety of means at its disposal for delivering these deadly weapons.

In January, I also named North Korea and Iraq for their covert nuclear weapons programs in violation of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. This year, North Korea did not meet congressional certification requirements because of its continued lack of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, its failure to make any progress toward implementing the North-South Joint Denuclearization Declaration as called for under the Agreed Framework, and for proliferating long-range ballistic missiles. Finally, we believe that North Korea has a sizeable stockpile of chemical weapons and can manufacture all manner of CW agents.

Over the past decade, every "talking point" from the Heritage Foundation - from the "individual mandate" for national health insurance right through to the trust but verify, has been tossed aside by the current GOP.

This deal was for trump and his family to make money from, and was another pay for policies , then to allow him to get more sweetheart deals from a corrupt dictator who murders his people like Putin. This is why he's torn up almost all trade agreements, to use to shake down others countries with, or else he attacks and changes policies to hurt them with. Corruption running wild out of this White House now.
