My job was to send a signal of strength, he said at a conference in Washington on Tuesday. The problem was that in conveying that message I used language that was inappropriate.

(54,408 posts)That's like saying Timothy McVeigh's method of expressing his dissatisfaction with the government in Oklahoma City was "inappropriate."
Navarro used language that was insulting, excessive, incendiary and downright impermissible. No excuse covers him for a statement like that. Every second he continues in his post is a second too long.

I have never in my life heard such hateful, lying rhetoric used against our neighbor and closest ally Canada!
If Trump refuses to fire this asshole its just one more slap in the face to our good friends in Canada!

(82,849 posts)Let's hear you apologize, walk back, and swear never again to use Nazi formulations like "stab in the back." Then tender your resignation. And spend the rest of your life volunteering as a custodian at some Holocaust memorial.
Navarro didn't use that language by accident, and it was a clarion call to the Nazi base.

It's an argument that this guy and everybody he knows don't believe one word of what they tell you they believe.
