UFC Champion Rips Into 'Filthadelphia Eagles' -- Wants to Celebrate His Win Like a 'Real American'

UFC fighter Colby Covington told reporters he wanted to celebrate his championship win like a “real American” at the White House with President Donald Trump — unlike the “Filthadelphia Eagles.” During a press conference following his win, he explained to reporters that he told everyone he'd make the “welterweight division great again” and that he did “everything I said I was going to do.”

“Now I'm going to celebrate the way a real American should celebrate winning a world title, and that's going to the White House to see Mr. Donald Trump and put (the belt) on his desk,” he shared. Covington then took aim at the Super Bowl champions and said that his celebratory plans are “unlike the Filthadelphia Eagles,” who are “disrespecting our country's flag by kneeling for the national anthem.”

While some of the Eagles players have strong feelings about Trump and his comments about the national anthem protest, not one player on the roster kneeled during the 2017 regular season. This isn't the first time Covington has taken a jab at the Eagles. Ahead of his big fight, he called the many Eagles players who declined an invitation to Washington, D.C., a “joke.”

“They live in the city of liberty, man — the Liberty Bell is right down the street. Their mascot is the eagle,” he told MMA Junkie. “That's the American flag's mascot.” He added that he couldn't “wait” to take the belt to the Oval Office and “put it on Trump's desk,” opining that the Eagles “suck.”

I knew there was a reason why I didn't like UFC, now it's becoming pretty clear!

With that said, repeal the Mohamed Ali Act.

These combat sport ding dongs are mostly right wing conspiracy/born again nuts. They rail against government, call people who want government help lazy, yet want the government to protect themselves. Typical conservatives, only looking out for themselves.

Repeal the act and let them fight "dog eat dog" for their "fair" wages. Make them live by their words.

Alot of them backed Conman, none Hillary.

Social media is where most people let out their true feelings.

Also, wrestling is another right wing scumbag sport, and I'm not talking about the McMahon freak show.

Especially with their obscene pay per view fees. If I'm paying that much for something, it's not going to be a fight.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UFC_champions#Welterweight_Championship Covington is the "interim champion." The real champion is Tyron Woodley, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.

Hopefully the next fight this guy has sees him beaten to a bloody pulp.
