I heard a clip on the radio from our fake president talking about how nice the sand beaches are in NK. He talked about how nice it would be to have hotels there. He said it would be nice since you have China and S. Korea on either side to use the hotels.
Wake up America! Greed and self-enrichment is his addiction and the presidency is being exploited. America is being exploited. I realize DUers know this. I'm just saying.

(3,115 posts)And hasn't it been said many times that key players in that corrupt party also have their pockets lined with Russian cash? Hence the silence as Dump cozies up to dictators and secures massive loans for his corrupt family. Look at Lyin' Ryan and Nurtle the Turtle. Crickets.

(23,957 posts)it really looks like he's out for revenge on the USA, and his end-game appears to be a complete hostile balkanization of the entire country. we're ripe for it.
i feel pretty hopeless about the coming elections -- much too close already, and the Russians haven't really begun to put their thumb on the scale yet. unless Putin sees some value in having Democrats in congress investigating the president (which he might, for various reasons), our blue wave is going to become a blue puddle.

(869 posts)People are not allowed to travel. Period. And foreign influence is not allowed either, so there is no tourism industry. So frankly I don't know how a hotel property investment there would work...

...and even if a hotel gets built, Russian oligarchs can launder money by booking hotel rooms at super high prices. Money is placed in western bank accounts, laundering accomplished.

(2,434 posts)You are forgetting that our dear leader Cheeto does not read. He cannot be expected to know these things. He does not know why we have military exercises in S. Korea. He thinks Canada is our enemy. He thinks everyone wants a gold toilet and cannot comprehend someone valuing anything more than money. He is greedy and amoral.

(19,066 posts)Trump has a line of massage parlors and escort services already licensed in China. Yes, that is a fact, the President of the United States runs Massage Parlors and Escort Services. In the Far East this is human trafficking, heck in the US often it means human trafficking is going on. Very few women/girls in China are working at massage parlors or working as escorts of their own free will. Trump wants to spread his businesses into South and North Korea, I'm sure he sees the impoverished young women of North Korea as being easy targets for his slave trade.
People do not fully understand the level of evil we are dealing with in Trump. This is a man who's been involved in the sex trade for decades. This is a man whose boss, Vladimir Putin, is also deeply involved in the human trafficking of young girls and boys.
"I own a chain of massage parlors and escort services in Asia" means that you are making money by buying and selling women to be used as sex slaves. That is exactly what we are dealing with.

(10,137 posts)I've been off-line most of today: has there been any other earth-shattering news, like the sun being expected to rise in the east tomorrow morning?
Trump has no history of altruism, or of putting anything else- even the country he swore to protect and serve - ahead of a chance to line his pockets. Of course that's his end game, and if it means selling out South Korea and Japan - well, what have they done for HIM lately?
