2. two reasons, right off the top

...of course, there's the creeping autocracy in the Trump administration, aided by an obsequious Congress. Trump looks to be waiving signal flags from the roof of the WH, telling all that can hear that he considers himself immune from the laws of the land, and will do or say anything to preserve and enhance his power and authority over us.

Then, there's the prospect that NK could be telling him whatever he wants to hear, all the while ramping up whatever offense or offensive capability they have planned to proceed with all along. It's what Hitler did as the west was negotiating with him.

He has assaulted one of his son's and threatened reporters at his rallies.

I bet he lashes out at those who get in his way.

4. Is anyone really surprised? I mean anyone who is paying attention and understands what
Tue Jun 12, 2018, 03:30 PM

is happening.

Of course Trump praised and excused KJU.

Trump praised and excused Duterte.

Trumps likes the absolute powers of a dictator. Trump wants those powers.

Trump is tearing down institutions to make his dictatorial style more acceptable - and the more acceptable the more ways he can expand it.

So no one who is paying any attention at all thought Trump would denounce KJU in any way.

And anyone paying any attention at all knows Trump's bumbling words are meant to play to his base and to be a slap across the face to our allies - who would be stupid to not know that with Trump in office, you have to protect your own people against the harm Trump is causing.

Trump is isolating America - because if he is the only source of anything - then his "I alone" becomes true. If he can break us - and he's trying - then he can claim he's the one that can fix us - and he's attempting to do one by claiming he is doing the other. So he's trying to break America - in the same way you "break*" a horse (conditioning its loyalty to you and training it to perform a certain way) - all the while claiming that's how you "Make America Great Again".Trump's base is all to willing to be broken - which makes Trump's words all the more scary - because that means he already has an eager army of sorts to go after the rest of us.

And if you can dress the breaking as the "American way of life" - and right-wingers have been doing that for years - then it doesn't seem different or foreign. If something has been the same for 20-50 years, then some people will claim that's the way it has always been - even when the facts say otherwise.

*I know decent people don't train a horse abusively - but it does require refocusing the natural inclinations of a horse to the human's will and bidding. That's all that is meant. That Trump is attempting to bend people to his will.

KJU is good and he loves his people.
Justin Trudeau is a backstabbing culprit and an enemy of America.

Get it?

which should worry all of us. Kim would have shared his secrets for staying in power with no opposition and the best way to keep it in the family so Ivanka or Don Jr. can take over next.

trump is a coddled, self-centered moron. And he couldn't give half a shit about anybody else, besides himself. He's not going to go voluntarily, so we need to think in terms of other solutions. In all seriousness, I'd settle for Canada annexing us as another big-ass territory, at this point. That's how fed up I am.

so our mainstream public policy debate occurs between supporters of the president and those who are skeptical but just need a little more convincing.

this is how it ends.
