I always thought Congress was driven by having power.

Apparently, as my Great Aunt Nelle would say, I was mistaken. They are letting Trump do anything he wants without involving their authority at all. They are just pathetic little people.

Never thought they would allow this kind of power castration. They essentially are not involved in government.

They're doing fine with the money - they want the power to be able to decide about the money - they want their dough too!

GOP Congressional types are afraid of their base that overwhelmingly supports Trump. They are afraid that if they appear to even slightly disagree with Trump, the base will make them pay.

If - if, I say - GOP Congressional types conclude that the greater risk is being a Trump toady, they will suddenly rediscovery their spines. That conclusion will not occur before they see elections being lost or the Mueller report causes a sufficient public reaction that they fear for future elections.

Nothing - nothing - is more important to most sitting politicians than re-election.
