It's time for Secretary Nielsen to resign. The government should be in the business of keeping families together, not tearing them apart. And the government should have a commitment to transparency and accountability. Under her tenure, DHS does not have a track record of either.

(4,292 posts)Not only from the news and images from our southern border, but also between two instincts:
1. One side of me hopes that our nation can eventually follow South Africas example, establishing a Truth & Reconciliation Commission that provides closure from the atrocities we are now witnessing, and moves forward;
2. My other side is armed with a pitchfork which is dull, rusty and covered with all sorts of microorganisms (from my compost container), and many more just like it. Alongside an equal number of torches not Lowes tiki-torches, mind you, but the real ones carried to bring to justice to Nielson, Miller and other truly deplorable members of iq45s team (along with the thugs actually committing these atrocities).
I would welcome the recommendations of the families directly impacted by this horrid zero-tolerance approach.

About as evil as they come.
She was hanged for her troubles.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irma_Grese
Grese and two other concentration camp workers, Johanna Bormann and Elisabeth Volkenrath, were convicted along with eight men for crimes committed at Auschwitz and Belsen and sentenced to death. As the verdicts were read, Grese was the only prisoner to remain defiant.[16] Her subsequent appeal was rejected.
The night before her execution, Grese sang Nazi songs until the early hours of the morning with Johanna Bormann.[17] On Thursday, 13 December 1945, in Hamelin Jail, Grese was led to the gallows. The women were executed singly by long-drop hanging and then the men in pairs.[18] Regimental Sgt. Maj. O'Neill assisted the British executioner, Albert Pierrepoint

The toady in Lamar Alexander's office answered me by email and I chastised that person for using false information. I enjoyed that a little.
