ProPublica has obtained audio from inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, in which children can be heard wailing as an agent jokes, We have an orchestra here.
The desperate sobbing of 10 Central American children, separated from their parents one day last week by immigration authorities at the border, makes for excruciating listening. Many of them sound like theyre crying so hard, they can barely breathe. They scream Mami and Papá over and over again, as if those are the only words they know.

Hope Chris Hayes opens & closes his show with this...wow that was chilling...

(2,769 posts)I was reminded of an incident when my daughter was 4 years old.
Upon exiting a performance of the Lippizaner horses, she followed a stranger instead of our group.
We searched and searched until finally, a couple appeared with her on the man's shoulders. The terror in her eyes and her crying was heartbreaking --- but I GOT HER BACK! These poor immigrants/assylulm seekers have no idea if they will EVER see their children again.
She is now in her 30s and has NEVER FORGOTTEN that incident.
Alex Azar needs to be fired.

(31,011 posts)People were trying to comfort him, but he wouldn't have it. He was taught to not talk to strangers and he was so upset. The tears on his face broke my heart. You reminded of that incident.
