Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday attempted to defend the Trump administrations practice of separating parents and children who cross the border illegally from comparisons to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, saying the Nazis "were keeping the Jews from leaving."
Sessions appeared on Fox Newss The Ingraham Angle amid a growing uproar over the administrations zero tolerance policy to combat illegal immigration. As part of the policy, thousands of migrant children have been separated from their parents.
Ingraham noted that some opponents have compared the practice to "concentration camps," while others have condemned it as a human rights violation.
Well its a real exaggeration. Of course in Nazi Germany, they were keeping the Jews from leaving the country, Sessions said.

That's the real comparison. Denying entry because you're not the right religion or color regardless of what horror you face in your home country

(8,097 posts)Prior to 1939 the policy was to chase as many Jews out of Germany (and then Austria) as could be bullied into leaving.
And once the war started Jews were deported from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Greece, Hungary, Germany, Italy and the rest of the west to be "resettled" outside the territory of the Greater Reich.
