Moving to the general election, Democrats appear to be gaining ground on retaking the Florida Governors Mansion for the first time since Lawton Chiles defeated Jeb Bush in 1994. While Gwen Graham is currently performing the best in general election match-ups, both Gillum and Levine hold leads as well. Graham leads Putnam 45%-39% and DeSantis 44%-34%. Gillum beats out Putnam 42%-39% and 38%-35% over DeSantis. Levine holds leads almost identical to Graham over Putnam 43%-39% and 43%-33% over DeSantis.
The best news for Democrats in this new poll comes from the Senate race where Bill Nelson now holds a 50%-40% lead over Rick Scott. This margin was a narrower 44%-40% in March. Nelson is winning 81%-12% among Democrats and 49%-32% among independents while Scott has winning Republicans 73%-21%. Floridas Hispanic electorate is less liberal than the nation electorate. Scott leads Nelson 40%-32% among Hispanics despite trailing Nelson 73%-20% with African Americans and 49%-43% among Caucasians. Nelson does best among women (51%-39%), but still holds a lead among men (49%-41%).

He has a solid game in Florida.
Thanks for sharing. This is some good news.

That idiot Scott had a ton of ignorant TV ads touting term limits. Those ads were so very stupid that it was sad. Scott is spending a ton of money but his lies are not working

Reassuring, as I had assumed this seat was lost based on the FSU polls.
Were also ahead in the Montana-at-large CD in todays polls as well!

(58,785 posts)5. Bill Nelson was just denied entry to a Florida detention
facility. I'd read that the Homestead facility was closed down in 2017, but apparently they're hiding 1000 children in there.
Tampa Bay Times: The Florida Democrats wanted to see conditions inside the shelter and determine the status of what is reported to be about 1,000 youths there. Nelson said the company operating the facility granted a tour but the Department of Health and Human Services "blocked us" and wanted a two week notice.
"That's ridiculous and it's clear this administration is hiding something," Nelson said.
"The administration's action today to deny us access to their Homestead, Florida facility where they are holding 1,000 migrant children is against EVERYTHING that we as a country stand for. They ought to be ashamed of themselves," Nelson wrote on Twitter.
