President Trump’s son backed out of a political fundraiser for former President George W. Bush’s nephew, over the Bush family’s harsh words about the White House’s child-separation policy, published reports said on Tuesday.

Donald Trump Jr. had been set to appear for George P. Bush — a Texas land commissioner and the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Axios and Politico reported.

Despite the bruising 2016 GOP presidential campaign between Donald Trump and Jeb Bush, a source close to Don Jr. said the sons still get along.

First - He asked Trump Jr. to appear on his behalf? Solly Mack Jun 2018 #3
My guess is that initially the appearance would have been a quid pro quo. no_hypocrisy Jun 2018 #4

* Not surprising really - he is a Bush, after all - but you'd think the attacks on his father might have dissuaded him from ever asking.

Second - It was Trump Jr. who backed out and not JEB Jr. who rescinded the invite?

See above: *

JEB Jr. was hoping to cash in on Trump's favorable standing with the deplorables in hopes they would support him as well. Allow me to repeat that - a Bush was hoping to gain the support of Trump's deplorables.

But then - he is a Bush.

Oh, spare me. A Bush never really changes its stripes.

They are now groveling to Trumps for political clout.

How low can you go?

I already know the answer to that. He is a Bush, after all.

I think that Jr. is considering office when his father is done and he's assembling his own cadre of donors and supporters now by doing favors.
